Lancashire – Winmarleigh Hall
Winmarleigh Hall is a 19th Century country house set in 50 acres of gardens, parkland and woodland with a large, purpose-built lake. Close to the historic city of Lancaster and the Forest of Bowland, this centre is crammed with activites and things to do.

North Yorkshire – Newby Wiske Hall
Previously a police training centre, this historic 17th century country house opened its doors as a PGL activity centre in 2023 after a huge transformation. The centre is surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, known for its rolling hills, lush green landscapes and scenic beauty.

Is there a minimum participant requirement?
We require at least 8 participants for a PGL Birthday party. The price is per party (max 12 guests) and therefore the prices shown will be payable regardless of group size
Do parents/guardians need to stay for the duration of the party?
We require at least one parent/guardian to stay as chaperone for the children in attendance (maximum 2 parents/guardians).
What is the minimum age for Activity Birthday Parties?
Due to the nature of the activities, we recommend that the minimum participant age is 7 years old.
Do I need to provide party food?
No need to bring party food – depending on your chosen package, lunch and/or dinner is provided in our dining room. Our meals are designed to fuel young adventurers – nutritious, tasty, and kid-approved!

Children can enjoy a variety of nutritious hot meals served canteen-style, with unlimited access to the salad bar. Vegetarian options are always available, and we cater for most medical or religious dietary requirements.
Please share any allergies or dietary needs via the participant information form, sent after booking.
A delicious party cake is included and served after the meal. Children can enjoy it at the table or take it home, individually wrapped. While the cake contains no nuts, it may contain traces, so please notify us of any nut allergies at the time of booking and we’ll provide a suitable alternative.
Please note: up to two parents can join the party and enjoy a meal – this is included in the package.
We’ll reserve and decorate a festive table for your group. To stay energised, we recommend children bring a refillable water bottle and a snack if needed.
Will the shop be open?
Each of our centres has a shop where PGL merchandise, drinks, sweets and snacks can be purchased.
If you’d like the children to visit the shop during the party, simply let our staff know when you arrive.
What happens in bad weather?
Our outdoor birthday parties will continue to go ahead despite wet or bad weather. Therefore, we recommend wearing appropriate clothing. Parties will only be cancelled under severe weather conditions such as lightning and the centre will contact the lead booking on the day of the party if this is necessary.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel the party, the following fees apply :
- Cancellation more than 57 days before arrival – 15% cancellation fee
- Cancellation 56-29 days before arrival – 30% cancellation fee
- Cancellation 28-15 days before arrival – 45% cancellation fee
- Cancellation 14 days before arrival – 100% cancellation fee
Any amendment to dates or activities (if available) are possible, providing these are made at least 14 days prior to arrival and will be subject to a £25 amendment fee. Changes to your adventure party cannot be made within 14 days of the event, but name changes are always welcome and free of charge.
Are adventure parties available year-round?
PGL Birthday Parties are available from February to November
What happens after I book?
If you decide to place a booking we will hold the booking without obligation for 48 hours whilst you decide to proceed or not. To confirm you simply need to call us and make payment for the party by card or via BACS. Please note that we cannot accept Childcare Vouchers for Birthday Parties.
Once paid we will then send you a confirmation email with further information including a downloadable invitation, centre directions, a kit list and a name list for you to complete prior to arrival.
What are the arrival and departure times?
- Summer timings – British Summer Time (Mar 30th 2025 to Oct 25th 2025, Mar 29th 2026 to Oct 24th 2026):
- Morning parties: Arrive at 8:30am, depart at 1pm
- Afternoon parties: Arrive at 1:30pm, depart at 6pm
- Full day parties: Arrive at 8:30am, depart at 5:30pm
- Winter timings – Greenwich Mean Time (Oct 27th 2024 to Mar 29th 2025, Oct 26th 2025 to 28th Mar 2026):
- Morning parties: Arrive at 8:40am, depart at 1:10pm
- Afternoon parties: Arrive at 12:20pm, depart at 4:50
- Full day parties: Arrive at 8:40am, depart at 16:50pm
