What are the benefits of sending my kids to summer camp?

Our summer camp programs are designed to maximise fun – and help you out too! We know that juggling work commitments with childcare can be challenging, so we offer camps throughout the summer break. With PGL, your child will have a simply unforgettable experience with heaps of fun, learning and adventure combined. My child hasn’t attended a summer camp before, what can they expect?

We welcome thousands of children each year embarking on their first PGL experience. Children’s welfare is our biggest priority, and we do everything possible to make your child feel safe and welcome at their chosen summer camp. Our groupies are highly trained to help manage your child’s on-camp experience, with expert guidance during activities and support at all times, so they can feel settled and reassured in their exciting new surroundings.

In which locations do you offer summer camps?

We offer summer camps across the UK, so you can be sure to find the right summer camp for your child. Set amidst the beautiful countryside, discover a world of learning and adventure in stunning settings including Boreatton Park and PGL Liddington in Wiltshire with a variety of different camp programs including netball camps, pony camps, mad science camps and many more! What age groups do you cater for on your Kids' Summer Camps?

We cater for children aged 8 to 16. At our residential summer camps, your children will be grouped into age ranges so they can have the best camp experience:

Our summer camps designed for 8-11-year-olds are all about creating fun memories, building confidence and introducing all-important independence skills before your child makes the move to secondary school. With a range of multi-activities across our UK activity centres, your 8-11 year olds will be grouped with children their age, making the experience extra special.

Our summer camps designed for 11-13-year-olds allow your children to explore their individuality, at a time when it’s most important. We offer a variety of multi-activity holidays designed to engage your children and introduce them to their peers. We can help your children explore their growing interests, whether that’s horseback riding, cooking, or even science.

In their transformative age of adolescence, our summer camps designed for 13-16-year-olds are carefully crafted to introduce fun, excitement and adventure into your child’s life. Your children will return from a PGL adventure feeling invigorated, refreshed and ready to take on the world.

What's included in the cost of a PGL activity summer camp?

We cover everything to make sure that your child has an unforgettable time at one of our PGL camps. Included in the cost of your child’s adventure camp is:

  • – Accommodation
  • – Food & Drink (Not including the bar)
  • – Activities
  • – Equipment

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater for many dietary requirements at our PGL UK activity centres. We are able to deliver catering provision for dietary requirements as specified by culture, religion and medical concerns. We regularly provide meals for a wide variety of needs including coeliac, diabetic, food allergies and vegetarian/vegan. You will be given the opportunity to let us know about your child’s dietary requirements prior to travel. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a member of the PGL team to discuss these.

What is the food like?

We have freshly-prepared hot or cold options available at every mealtime and a self-service salad bar for children to help themselves to as much salad as they like at lunch and dinner. Homemade soup is available most days and there is plenty of bread and fresh fruit available, as well as hot and cold drinks. Here are some examples of tasty meals often available for lunch and dinner:

  • – Cheese Burger
  • – Chicken Katsu Curry with Vegetables
  • – Penne Pasta with Tomato Sauce & Grated Cheese
  • – Vegetable Ratatouille
  • – Lasagne
  • – Fish & Chips
  • – Hot Dog

What is the accommodation like on an adventure camp?

At PGL we have a variety of accommodation available, depending on the location of your booking, including lodges, chalets, mansion houses, log cabins and more!
