Competition Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions  (the “Terms”) National Kids’ Camps Content Creator and brand ambassador  

The Promoter, PGL Travel Limited (“PGL”), is running a competition to find an enthusiastic young person (aged 10-15) to become its National Kids’ Camps Content Creator and act as a brand ambassador for PGL Kids’ Adventure Camps throughout 2024.  

The Brand Ambassador will take photos and create their own content throughout the year, including whilst on their prize PGL adventure breaks (the “Content”) which PGL will curate & share on their social media outlets. The Content would provide an undercover view from their perspective on what it’s like to attend a Kids’ Adventure Camp, what they get up to, what the food is like, friends that they meet etc.   

This campaign will be shared via PGL social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly known as Twitter)), its YouTube channel, emails and website (www.pgl.co.uk) (together referred to as the “PGL Platforms”) and third party media publications (print and online) (“Media”) in particular in the areas of the 4 PGL centres at: Boreatton Park, Marchants Hill, Liddington, Newby Wiske (the “Centres”).  

Competition Timings  

  • The competition will run from 00:01 on 22 March 2024 to 00:00 on 14 April 2024 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.  
  • Four Shortlisted candidates (one for each Centre) will be contacted by [6.00pm] on 16 April 2024.  
  • The deadline for Shortlist submissions is 00:00 on Sunday 21 April 2024.  
  • The winner will be announced by [6.00pm] on Tuesday 7 May 2024. 

How to enter – Stage 1 

  • Entrants will be asked to submit their best content creation (images (up to 10 images and under 50mb in total) or a video entry (no longer than 40 seconds/50mb) (“Entry”) to introduce themself. This may feature something they’re passionate about, or might be content from their Easter Holidays or alike. 
  • The parent or guardian of the entrant will submit the entry via the website competition page at https://adventureholidays.pgl.co.uk/content-creator-competition/  
  • You will be asked to nominate your nearest Centre from the Centres listed as part of the entry process and your entry will be judged against other entries who have nominated that Centre.  

Shortlist Stage 

  • Shortlisted Entries will be selected in the area of each of the four Centres.  
  • Parents/Guardians will be notified if their child has been selected for the shortlist by [6.00pm] on 16 April 2024.  
  • The shortlisted Entrants will be asked to submit a photograph of themselves and to submit <100 words on why they want to become PGL’s Kids’ Camps content creator for 2024 (the “Shortlist Entries”).  
  • The parent or guardian of the entrant will submit the entry via the website competition page at https://adventureholidays.pgl.co.uk/content-creator-competition/  
  • The shortlisted entrants will be asked if they would like to be featured in local media and sent a short set of questions regarding their entry and themselves. If they agree to being featured they may or may not be interviewed by the local press. The decision to be featured and interviewed will be entirely at the discretion of the applicant & their Parent/Guardian.
  • The names of the four shortlisted Entrants will be announced publicly on 24 April 2024.   

 Winner   

  • The Winner will be announced on Tuesday 7 May 2024 (the Announcement Date) by PGL via PR media, and on any or all of the PGL Platforms.   
  • PGL will contact the Winner personally on the Announcement Date, using the telephone number or email address provided with the Entry. 

Winner’s Content   

  • The Winner must capture the Content whilst on each Prize Break and submit it within 2 weeks after they return from each Prize Break.  
  • The winner is required to provide two pieces of content from their two trips. A brief will be provided ahead of the trips, but requirements will be focused on short-form content (i.e. 40 second videos) and supplied in standard formats. Content must be focused on themselves/their family and not film other camp guests. 
  • We may ask the Winner to partake in user testing or other content requirements  – but this can be discussed and agreed on a case by case basis.  

Competition prizes – the winner will receive:

  • Two PGL adventure breaks (“Prize Breaks”) at their local Centre OR one of the four Centres OR at one of our two UK family centres (tbc  with the winner)
  • A Kids’ Multi Activity Camp (for up to 2 children) or a Family Adventure break (for up to 2 adults + 3 children), for up to 4 nights to be taken during May half term (the week commencing 25 May 2024)  
  • A Kids’ Multi Activity Camp or TRAILBLAZE! Adventure for 2 children to be taken between July and the first week of August 2024 (inclusive) for up to 7 nights.   
  • £500 Amazon voucher to spend on equipment to help create content on centre e.g. camera phone, tablet, camera. To be agreed with PGL before purchase.    
  • The prizes do not include the cost of transfers to and from the Centre, spending money, or personal expenses.  
  • There is no cash alternative for the prizes. The prizes are not negotiable or transferable. 
  • [The Winner must claim the prizes and book the Prize Breaks [by contacting PGL customer services] by [14 May 2024].] If the Winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize by [14 May 2024], PGL reserves the right to offer the prizes to the runner up Shortlisted Entrant. 
  • PGL does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prizes. 

General Terms and Conditions

  • The Competition is open to UK resident children aged between 10 to 15 years on 24 May 2024 except for (i) employees and contractors of PGL or its group companies or members of their immediate families or households.  
  • The Entrant’s parent or legal guardian (over the age of 18) must submit their child’s Entry via the online form and agree to these Terms. 
  • In entering the Competition, you confirm that the Entrant is eligible to do so and able to claim the prize on the dates outlined. PGL may require you to provide proof of eligibility. 
  • By entering the Competition the Entrant, agrees that if they win they will become PGL’s Kids’ Camps Content Creator and brand ambassador for PGL Kids’ Adventure Camps throughout 2024, ending on 31 December 2024. 
  • There is a limit of one entry to the Competition per person. Joint submissions are not allowed. 
  • PGL reserves the right to disqualify an Entrant whose conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Competition and to cancel any Prize Breaks that have not yet been taken. 
  • The Entries and the Shortlist Entries will be used for the purpose of judging and will not be shared on PGL Platforms, save for the Winner’s Entry which may be used as part of the announcement of the Competition Winner, and could be shared on PGL Platforms and in Media.  
  • PGL will not accept responsibility for Entries or Shortlist Entries that are lost, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 
  • On entering the Competition the parent/guardian will give their consent for the Entrant, should they win, to create Content, and share the Content with PGL on the terms outlined in these Terms and Conditions.  
  • The Content could be featured on any or all PGL Platforms and may be shared with some Media. 
  • By entering the Competition you give permission for the Entrant’s photograph and/or the Content to be used for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the PGL Platforms, and in Media.   
  • The Entries to select the shortlisted candidates and Shortlist Entries to select the winner will be judged by a panel of judges in PGL whose decision (acting reasonably) will be final. 
  • Insofar as is permitted by law, PGL will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prizes except where due to the negligence of PGL.  Your statutory rights are not affected. 
  • If PGL has reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms, PGL may, at its sole discretion, exclude you from participating in the Competition. 
  • PGL reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it is necessary to do so. 
  • These Terms are governed by English law. If any Entrants wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom. 

Ownership of Content and intellectual property rights 

  • Each Entrant confirms that their Entry, Shortlist Entry and Content (as applicable) will: 
  • be wholly original to them (save to the extent that it incorporates material provided by PGL) and will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party; 
  • not contain any defamatory matter, breach any duty of confidentiality, or infringe any data protection rights. 
  • The Winner grants to PGL (i) an irrevocable exclusive licence to the Content including the right to edit, copy and alter the Content and (ii)  an irrevocable non-exclusive licence to use, and to authorise others to use, their name and images provided by the Winner, for the purposes of publicising the Competition and PGL’s National Kids Camps. 
  • If the Winner posts the Content on their social media they should make their connection to PGL clear,  for example saying: “I won a PGL competition to find a National Kids’ Camps Content Creator and the prize included 2 free holidays and recording equipment”.  PGL shall be entitled to require the immediate removal of any content relating to PGL, or its holidays that PGL finds objectionable.  Further the Winner shall be expected to promptly remove any content for which they receive a legitimate complaint or which they later become aware may be in violation of the law or third party rights. 

Data protection and publicity 

PGL will only process the personal information of the Entrants and their parents/guardians as set out in the Privacy Policy (pgl.co.uk). See also paragraph 3 and 4 above, with regard to the announcement of shortlisted Entrants and the Winner.
