Available exclusively during the summer holidays, 7‑night specialist adventure camps combine the best of PGL’s action‑packed programme with a focused pathway such as Horse Riding, Driving or Watersports – designed to build skills, confidence and independence. Kids develop expertise in an area they love, challenge themselves in new ways, and return home more confident – without missing out on the energy and fun of a Multi‑Activity Camp.

Which Specialist Adventure Camp will help your child thrive?

Our Specialist Adventure Camps offer the best of both worlds – a unique blend of our most popular multi-activities, plus lots of time on a chosen specialist hobby or experience. Your child will love spending time doing something they are passionate about, whether it’s looking after ponies or cooking up a storm, to watersports or theme parks! With a range of Specialist Adventure Camps available, your child can choose a focus that helps them build skills and confidence.

Pony Beginner

Pony Beginner

Enjoy six half days of horse riding lessons, stable tasks and fun! For the other half of your break you’ll be involved in classic PGL activities back at base – the best of both worlds! No previous experience required, but by the end of the week you can expect to have built up your abilities in the school and out hacking.

This one is especially for the adrenaline-junkies! Our Theme Park Camps are a thrill-seeker’s paradise, packed with our finest white-knuckle PGL activities and two full-day theme parks visits, including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Drayton Manor Park.

Aqua Explorer

Each holiday includes a selection of action-packed watersports activities, such as Aqua Parks, Sailing, Wake Boarding and Coasteering. Plus you’ll get to take part in our very best PGL watersports – Giant SUP, Raft Building and Dragon Boating to name a few! Half your time will be spent doing specialist watersports and half enjoying classic PGL Multi-Activity.

Pony Beginner

Based at Boreatton Park or Windmill Hill you’ll travel to our local riding centre to enjoy six half days of horse riding lessons, stable tasks and fun! For the other half of your break you’ll be involved in classic PGL activities back at base – the best of both worlds! No previous experience required, but by the end of the week you can expect to have built up your abilities in the school and out hacking.

Pony Improver

Based at Liddington you’ll need to be able to canter confidently by yourself to enjoy everything on offer at our partner centre on the outskirts of the Cotswolds! Their instructors will guide you through six half days of lessons, including riding skills in dressage, show jumping and even some cross country schooling, subject to ability. For the other half of your break you’ll be involved in classic PGL activities back at base, as with our Beginner break.

Cooks Academy

Based at Liddington, Osmington Bay or Marchants Hill you’ll spend six half days cooking with our expert mentors and six half days enjoying classic PGL Multi Activities. Each cooking session will have a daily theme – from Spanish culinary treats to French cuisine – you’ll learn a whole host of new skills.

What's included in the price of a Specialist Adventure Camp?

Activities, Food, Drink, Accommodation and Equipment are all included when you book a Specialist Adventure Camp for your child.

How do Specialist Adventure Camps differ from other PGL programmes?

Our 2-7 night Multi-Activity Camps include a range of outdoor activities and are available during all school holidays*, whereas on a Specialist Adventure Camp, your child will enjoy a 7-night summer break combining a mixture of classic outdoor activities and their chosen specialism – itineraries vary by Specialist Adventure Camp.

*excluding February Half Term and December.

Which ages are Specialist Adventure Camps best suited to?

Specialist Adventure Camps are available for 8 to 16 year olds, however this depends on the camp you have selected. The age groups available are:

Depending on your chosen TRAILBLAZE! Adventure your child will be taking part in some of our classic multi-activities, such as:

How many nights are Specialist Adventure Camps for?
