We have three age groups, for children aged 8-11, 11-13 years, and 13-16 years – our UK adventure camps provide the perfect environment for children to get outdoors! With thrilling activities such as the Zip Wire, Climbing, and the Giant Swing, kids will benefit from all the non-stop fun and enjoyment, all while developing new skills.

Dorset – Osmington Bay
Located on the spectacular Jurassic Coast, enjoying views across to Weymouth, Osmington Bay is an incredibly special place to visit. It boasts all the land-based activities that you would expect to find at a PGL centre, along with thrilling water sports at the nearby Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.

Lancashire – Winmarleigh Hall
Winmarleigh Hall is a 19th Century country house set in 50 acres of gardens, parkland and woodland with a large, purpose-built lake. Close to the historic city of Lancaster and the Forest of Bowland, this centre is crammed with activites and things to do.

North Yorkshire – Newby Wiske Hall
Previously a police training centre, this historic 17th century country house opened its doors as a PGL activity centre in 2023 after a huge transformation. The centre is surrounded by beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, known for its rolling hills, lush green landscapes and scenic beauty.

What's included in the price of an October half-term camp?

What will my child take part in during their time at an October camp?
Across our centres, we have a whopping 40+ activities to try. Your child will always be taking part in a range of our epic outdoor challenges, such as Raft Building, Abseiling, Climbing and more.
Will my child be safe?
Absolutely. At PGL, safety always comes first. We ensure every young person who comes to PGL is safe with our five protective pillars:
- Safe People: Staff are fully trained, DBS checked, and continually assessed.
- Safe Places: All buildings are risk assessed, we have segmented accommodation, secure perimeters and strict equipment standards.
- Safe Spaces: All encompassing environments, language inclusivity, and SEND trained staff.
- Safeguarding: Staff are trained in safeguarding, helping them to spot risks and act quickly.
- Safe Travels: All of our travel partners are vetted to make sure they have safety management systems in place, and we ensure travel is adaptable to the needs of all children.

What happens in the evenings?
The fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down! In the evenings there are even more indoor activities to end the night, such as quizzes, games, and even tasty campfire treats!
What's the accommodation like?
The accommodation at PGL is varied depending on the location your child is visiting. We have lodges, chalets, mansion houses, log cabins and more!
Can I pay with childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare?

Why are half-term camps split by age groups?
When booking a camp for the October half-term, you’ll find we have split age groups to maximise the development of your child. We like to encourage children to make new friends and take part in activities with those of a similar age. We want your child to be comfortable when they’re at camp, which is why certain ages overlap, meaning a ‘primary school’ 11-year-old could join our 8-11 adventures, and your ‘secondary school’ 11-year-old could join our 11-13 adventures!
What if it’s cold and wet in October?
We are well prepared for the great British weather! Our activities run in almost all weather conditions, so children can still enjoy their half-term adventures. If conditions prevent certain outdoor sessions, we always have fun indoor alternatives ready. We recommend packing plenty of warm layers and waterproofs — check out our key information and FAQs for more details!
