Dorset – Osmington Bay
Located on the spectacular Jurassic Coast, enjoying views across to Weymouth, Osmington Bay is an incredibly special place to visit. Newby by name, Newby by nature! Previously a police training centre, this historic 17th century country house opened its doors as a PGL activity centre in 2023 after a huge transformation. What's included in the price of a half-term adventure camp?
Book one of our wide array of adventure camps this October and you’ll get everything included! Once your child is with us, we’ll take care of the rest including:

What will my child take part in during their time at an Adventure Camp?
Your child will always be taking part in a range of our epic outdoor activities, such as Raft Building, Abseiling, Climbing and more. But depending on the adventure that you choose for your child, they could also enjoy one of our TRAILBLAZE! Adventures too! Check out our camp adventure tips for some handy insights of what to expect ahead of your adventure.
Will my child be safe?
Absolutely. At PGL, safety always comes first. We ensure every young person who comes to PGL is safe with our five protective pillars:
- Safe People: Staff are fully trained, DBS checked, and continually assessed.
- Safe Places: All buildings are risk assessed, we have segmented accommodation, secure perimeters and strict equipment standards.
- Safe Spaces: All encompassing environments, language inclusivity, and SEND trained staff.
- Safeguarding: Staff are trained in safeguarding, helping them to spot risks and act quickly.
- Safe Travels: All of our travel partners are vetted to make sure they have safety management systems in place, and we ensure travel is adaptable to the needs of all children.

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Yes, we can cater for many dietary requirements at our PGL centres. We are able to deliver catering provisions for dietary requirements as specified by culture, religion and medical concerns. We regularly provide meals for a wide variety of needs including coeliac, diabetic, food allergies and vegetarian/vegan. If your child has any dietary requirements then it’s best to get in contact with a member of the PGL team to discuss their needs.
What happens in the evenings?
The fun doesn’t end when the sun goes down! In the evenings there are even more indoor activities to end the night, such as quizzes, games, and even tasty campfire treats!
What's the accommodation like?
The accommodation at PGL is varied depending on the location your child is visiting. We have lodges, chalets, mansion houses, log cabins and more!
Can I pay with childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare?
Yes, we are registered to accept payment from all the major childcare voucher providers at our English centres, and we also accept payments from the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme. Learn more about how to book with PGL using Childcare Vouchers or the Tax-Free Childcare Scheme).
Why are half-term camps split by age groups?
When booking a camp for the October half-term, you’ll find we have split age groups to maximise the development of your child. We like to encourage children to make new friends and take part in activities with those of a similar age. We want your child to be comfortable when they’re at camp, which is why certain ages overlap, meaning a ‘primary school’ 11-year-old could join our 8-11 adventures, and your ‘secondary school’ 11-year-old could join our 11-13 adventures!
