When school finishes for summer, learning and personal development don’t have to stop. Residential summer camps give children the chance to build confidence, develop independence, make friends and try new activities away from home. Every summer, PGL Kids’ Camps welcomes children aged 8-16 for action-packed adventure experiences across the UK, helping young people get outdoors, stay active and learn new skills during the school holidays.

Why parents choose PGL Kids’ Camp year after year

“My children aged 13 both spent a wonderful week at Boreatton Park. Activities were fun and they are excited to return again next summer. Staff were helpful and went above and beyond in every situation. I would not hesitate to use PGL again and both boys are already looking forward to next year’s adventure. The location is stunning set deep in the countryside surrounded by fields and trees and all the staff I encountered were helpful.” – Parent of a child who visited during the summer holidays

For children, their first trip to PGL is just the beginning – and we welcome many children back to explore more activities, explore a new centre, or with their newfound confidence – many choose to stay longer next time. Parents can choose from 2, 3, 4 or 7 night Multi-Activity breaks, or discover skill-based Specialist Camps like Learner Driver.

Supporting children at every stage

“Our daughter enjoyed every minute of her PGL experience. The staff were incredibly energetic, fun and also very responsive to individual needs. The activities that she took part in built confidence and gave her memories for life. She built new friendships easily and can’t wait to return next summer!” – Parent of a child who visited during the summer holidays

“Charlie has made the most out of his experience at PGL and has thoroughly enjoyed every single day. He has overcome challenges he never thought he would and has made amazing friends along the way. He really enjoyed his week with Kat, she explained things in a way he understood and helped him when he needed it but also knew when to take a step back and let him figure things out on his own. He was a little nervous on his first day and she made him feel so welcome and it really made the start of his experience better than we could have imagined. He never wanted to come home!” – Parent of a child who visited during the summer holidays

We understand that every child has different needs but that shouldn’t limit the opportunities available to them. At PGL, we’re on a mission to make adventure more accessible for every young person. Our team are specially trained to be able to adapt activities for children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, sensory needs and neurodiverse conditions to ensure everyone gets the chance to experience an unforgettable summer. A summer they’ll never forget

“All children should have the privilege to experience. My daughter enjoyed every minute of her 4 night break to PGL she came home very pleased to share her experience and requested to return next summer. She even had the holiday blues for a couple of days! She made friends quickly which I think was due to the staffs ability to create a good atmosphere and a focus on team building.” – Parent of a child who visited during the summer holidays

Adventure leaves an impact that lasts much longer than the post PGL trip blues, this is what makes a Kids’ Camp an experience unlike anything else. Children gain confidence through trying new things, develop teamwork skills from completing challenges together and most importantly, have an amazing time.

Time passes but the PGL experience never changes – Trusted by families since 1957

“My kids loving PGL as much as I did! It’s so great to see that my children are enjoying their trips to PGL as much as I did in the 90’s! Their time at PGL gives them a real summer holiday, it’s outdoors and hearty, full of friendships, games and singing, we love it!” – Parent of child who visiting during the summer holidays

Since 1957, PGL has helped generations of children build confidence, make friends and discover a love of the outdoors through residential adventures. Many parents who attended PGL as children now choose Kids’ Camps for their own families, trusting us to provide the same opportunities for independence, personal growth and unforgettable summer memories that they experienced themselves.

Building friendships that last beyond the camp

“BEST SUMMER EVER!!! Our son had the most wonderful time at Osmington Bay this summer. The location and activities were great and he made lots of friends. After departing they have since arranged to meet up and all plan on returning back to Osmington Bay next year. Osmington Bay is now our sons favourite centre. Big shout out to Andy the group leader managing 13-16 year olds and absolutely smashing it… they thought he was fantastic and hope he is there next year” – Parent of a child who visited during the summer holidays

There is so much packed into a Kid’s Camp that picking one standout moment or takeaway can be impossible to do. One thing’s for sure, making friends is one of the most rewarding parts of the PGL experience. Shared adventures, team challenges and time spent together help children build friendships quickly, turning a stay away from home into an experience they’ll remember long after camp ends.

We group children in age ranges of 8-11, 11-13 and 13-16 years old, so that making friends is super easy and when it comes to activities they’re suited to everyone’s ability level.
