We have launched a brand-new two-night musical theatre adventure available in August for young people aged 8-13 to ‘defy gravity’ and take their creativity to the next level.

Partnering with Wicked Active Learning, the in-house education programme for Wicked on the West End, the Wicked Experience combines musical theatre with classic PGL activities, providing kids with a unique opportunity to build their confidence through performance and outdoor activities.

The experience includes professional sessions delivered by Wicked Active Learning, where participants will learn Wicked-inspired choreography, songs, and performance techniques, experience what rehearsing for a West End musical is like, and develop crucial skills for life such as teamwork, storytelling, and communication.

“We know how important adventure is for young people, whatever form it takes, as it has the power to unlock huge potential,” says Ben Ireson, Head of Youth & Partnerships.

“Too often, young people with a passion for the arts are cut off from opportunities like this because they live outside London or face barriers to accessing professional theatre experiences. By bringing the magic of Wicked to our centres, we’re opening doors for children who may never otherwise have the chance to experience something like this.

This Wicked Experience gives young people who dream of performing on stage – as well as those who have never had the confidence or opportunity to try – the chance to learn from industry professionals in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. Alongside developing their creativity and confidence, they’ll build lasting friendships, spend time outdoors and experience everything that makes a residential so transformative.

What makes this programme truly unique is the combination of world-class performing arts with the enrichment of a PGL adventure. Beyond rehearsals and workshops, young people will challenge themselves on exciting outdoor activities, develop resilience, teamwork and communication skills, and discover confidence in ways that simply aren’t possible in a traditional theatre setting. It’s this blend of creativity, adventure and personal development that creates a truly life-changing experience.

We hope every young person leaves not only inspired by the themes of Wicked, but also with new skills, greater self-belief and memories that will stay with them long after the final performance. They’ll have the chance to discover talents they never knew they had and, in more ways than one, learn that they really can fly.”

This magical experience costs £249 per person, including all workshops, activities, accommodation, and meals, and is available this summer for the following dates – 11th-13th August at Boreatton Park in Shropshire and 25th-27th August at Marchants Hill in Surrey.
